Meet the presenters:

James Gardner
James is Ballance’s Farm Sustainability Team national manager, leading a team of 15 people who help farmers with their environmental and sustainability requirements and goals.Prior to this role, James has spent his working career in the rural banking sector across New Zealand and Australia. Whilst at ASB, James was on the Aotearoa Circle steering committee that developed the Sustainability Agriculture Finance Initiative. He graduated from Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, and has embarked on post-graduate environmental studies. James lives in the Waikato where he is involved the family farm and is married with three children.

Angus Dowson
Angus grew up on a dairy farm in the Bay of Plenty and graduated from the University of Otago with a Master of Science degree. He is passionate about helping New Zealand farmers produce more off a lighter footprint. Angus has held three roles with Ballance over the past five years; Geospatial Analyst (using spatial mapping data to help farmers make informed decisions around land management), a Science Extension Officer (translating complex science into simple on-farm solutions), and most recently as our North Island Farm Sustainability manager. He currently works with a team of North Island-based farm consultants to deliver environmental services and advice to farmers to help meet compliance requirements and improve their on-farm sustainability.
