First Aid for Farmers – Taranaki

Tuesday 11 November –

Out in the paddock or the orchard, help isn’t always close by. Having the right first aid skills can make all the difference in a time of medical emergency!

Join Hato Hone St John for an interactive, practical, and hands-on course tailored and designed with the agricultural sector in mind. This 4-hour course is ideal for anyone who doesn’t require NZQA unit standards to learn the basics of first aid!

You’ll learn how to:

  • Assess for and manage dangers or hazards
  • Perform CPR and defibrillation
  • Manage life-threatening bleeding and shock
  • Manage major injuries – including amputation, crush injuries, gunshot wounds, stab wounds, impalement, and internal bleeding
  • Manage fractures and dislocations
  • Identify mental distress and build resilience

What you will gain:

  • The ability to recognise life-threatening situations
  • The confidence to take decisive action
