Autumn Calf Rearing Essentials – North Waikato

Join us for a practical workshop with NZAgbiz, covering the essentials of best-practice calf nutrition and early-life management. This event is designed to help calf rearers and dairy farmers set calves up for optimal health, welfare, and long-term performance.

You’ll hear the latest insights and research, alongside practical tips you can apply straight away.

What you will learn:

  • Shed set-up tips and tricks
  • Colostrum management and it’s impact on growth and immunity
  • New NZ research linking early calf growth to increased lifetime milk yield
  • Transitioning and step-down weaning approaches
  • The role of solid feeds in rumen development
  • Calf and people welfare

The session includes a lunch break and concludes with an interactive Q&A. Attendees are encouraged to add questions to the whiteboard during the event, with time allocated at the end to address key and burning questions.
