Joining the DWN Volunteer Team

Becoming a Regional Leader (RL) provides an exciting opportunity to extend your journey of leadership in the dairy industry. Whether you intend to stay in the role for a year or three, we believe a RL is a step along a path that may lead you into governance, employment or other form of leadership whether in the dairy industry or beyond.

You will be the face of DWN in your region and often the first point of contact for women involved in dairying. The success of our network lies in the promotion and activity of our regional groups.

A RL is tasked with organising and facilitating events in your region. These may take the form of Dairy Modules, network partner events, Farm Source Supplier events, as well as regional events catering specifically to your members’ needs. It may also involve attending collaborative meetings with industry partners and attending their events as the DWN regional rep.

Who are we looking for?

Our leaders are a pro-active bunch looking to gather confidence, knowledge and skills through a supportive network.

You don’t have to be a dairy farmer to be a leader – you can be involved in dairy in other ways too!

Part of the DWN philosophy is investing in our volunteers. If you’re keen on some professional development we can help you here! This is offered in a formal capacity twice a year through training programmes.

We know no two days are the same…

While there is work involved (i.e. helping run events) we understand you have many other roles too: on farm, in the community, with children, at work… won’t be doing it solo, it’s a team effort. You’ll be supported by other leaders in your region to ‘make it happen’.

The perks of the role are not bad just quietly! You’ll be networking with a raft of people, from partners and industry folk, to media, local agri-businesses and your community. You’ll receive access to speakers and experiences exclusively for RLs.

I’m keen to sign up!

Get in touch today by contacting DWN’s Regional Manager & Team Leader, Jodie Mexted.
