What our members are saying
“While I only get to work on the farm occasionally now as I am working full-time in farming retail, my membership with Dairy Women’s Network means I am able to retain my connection directly with the dairy industry that I love. The best part about being a Dairy Women’s Network member is connecting with other rural ladies and learning that is gained from those connections – let alone the social interaction with like-minded women!
It’s fantastic that the Network caters for women in areas of the industry and holds some night time workshops and courses as well as during the day.”
Sue Pothecary, Waikato farming retail customer service representative (East Waikato regional group member)
“I decided to join the network as a way to learn and enhance my skills. I also aspired to meet likeminded women in the business of dairy farming.
The best part of about being part of Dairy Women’s Network is the many wonderful women I have met over the last seven years. They are a group of very intelligent people who are very driven.
With the motivation and inspiration the Network has given me since 2007, I have been able to further my leadership skills immensely and am now chairing a Board of a Health Trust and am a director or trustee on four other boards.
I’m also really enjoying being on the conference committee over the last five years and am gaining so many skills as a result of that role.”
Jo Sanford, Dairy Farmer, Otahu Flat, Western Southland (Southland regional group member)
“I have been a Dairy Women’s Network member for four years, since I was first told about it having immigrated to New Zealand in 2007.
I went along to a few meetings initially and always came away positive and felt that I had met many likeminded ladies who had a love of dairying.
Then, I was blown away after attending my first conference. It had a profound effect on how I thought and what I was capable of.
Dairy Women’s Network is a place where new friendships are forged by working together as part of the training sessions and the networking programme. It is different to anything I have been involved with before.
Where I am from, word of mouth about this exciting dairying group which is both social and educational with an emphasis on personal and professional development has led to more and more joining us.”
Jackie Dale, Ballance Agri-Nutrients field consultant for the Taupo region (Taupo regional group member)
