AgITO has been developing training for the agriculture industry since the Farm Cadet scheme began in the 1970s. We are one of New Zealand’s largest industry training organisations, with over 12,000 people in training with us every year.
We work with employers and others in our industry like DairyNZ to develop relevant and up to date national qualifications and maintain national standards for agriculture. AgITO is a not for profit organisation and our training is 75% subsidised by Government and industry.
Our qualifications help people employed in agriculture to develop successful farming careers - getting the most out of their operation by staying competitive, improving business skills and farm practices and also up-skilling their farm team to improve efficiency.
Our dairy sector qualifications cover a variety of key areas from milk quality, mastitis management, and effluent management to calving, breeding, feeding and pastures, animal health and husbandry. We also have management level qualifications covering production management, business management and financial planning and HR.
