Who will be the Dairy Woman of the Year?

Is your business partner, colleague, neighbor, friend or relative the Dairy Woman of the Year Award 2012?

Our industry is made up of people who make a difference every day to their business, their community and their industry. This year for the first time we want to recognise a woman who is making a significant contribution.

We are calling for nominations of women who are

  • Making a significant contribution to the industry through her involvement at governance or senior management level within the industry, her region and/ or community.
  • Through this significant contribution are having influence in the industry and community
  • Promoting  the dairy industry in a positive way through their actions
  • Positive role models for dairy women (and all women) everywhere
  • Contributing to the community and assisted others
  • Credibile and have integrity
  • Lifelong learners

Nominations close Friday 24 th February 2012.

To be eligible for nomination the candidate  must  be nominated by a DWN member. DWN trustees and employees are ineligible.

A panel to decide winner will be made up of DWN chair, someone from Fonterra, someone from DairyNZ and one other from Global Women. These judges will decide based on the criteria above which candidate is the best fit.

The scholarship is a position on the prestigious "Women in Leadership" 12 month course run by Global Women which has a value of $25,000. This scholarship is sponsored by Fonterra Milk Supply.

Process for selection

  • Nominations called for from 16th January and close 24 Feburary.
  • Panel to convene  last week of February
  • 3 finalists contacted and interviewed early March
  • Award announcement made at DWN Conference dinner on March 21 2012
